FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm new to breathwork. Which offering should I start with?

Start with a free > 30-minute discovery call. We'll discuss your situation and find the right entry point.
For most people, I recommend:
→ Single 1:1 session if you want to try breathwork privately and see how it works for you
→ Brothers in Breath if you're a man seeking genuine connection with other men (half-day intensive, happens monthly)
→ Group breathwork circle if you want to experience it with others in a supportive container
→ Weekend retreat if you're ready to dive deep and have the time
No previous experience needed. Just show up willing to breathe and feel.
Not sure? That's what the discovery call is for.

What should I expect in a first session?

Before the session:
We'll have a brief chat about:
→ What you're working with (stress, disconnection, specific blocks)
→ Any medical considerations
→ What you hope to experience
During the session (60-90 minutes):
→ We start with intention setting and a bit of theory
→ Then we breathe (guided breathing patterns)
→ Emotions, sensations, or insights may arise
→ I hold space and guide you through whatever comes up
→ We end with integration time
After:
→ You might feel energizsd, emotional, clear, or tired
→ Give yourself space to rest and integrate
→ We'll discuss next steps if you want to continue
You're always in control:
You can stop or adjust at any time. This isn't about pushing through. It's about allowing what wants to move.
Common experiences:
→ Emotional release (tears, laughter, anger)
→ Physical sensations (tingling, temperature changes)
→ Mental clarity or insights
→ A sense of spaciousness or peace
Not everyone has a big breakthrough in session one. Sometimes the work is subtle. Sometimes it's volcanic. Both are valid.

What makes your approach to men's work unique?

How do I know if I'm ready for this work?
You're ready if:
✓ You're tired of thinking about your problems and ready to feel them
✓ You're willing to be uncomfortable
✓ You're open to what arises (even if it's not what you expect)
✓ You can commit to showing up for yourself
✓ You're ready to take responsibility for your transformation
You're NOT ready if:
✗ You're looking for a quick fix
✗ You want someone to "heal" you without your participation
✗ You're expecting magic without doing the work
✗ You're not willing to feel what's there
Still unsure? Book a discovery call. We'll figure it out together.

What makes your approach to men's work unique?

Most men's work falls into one of three traps:
1. Too theoretical - Lots of talking, no embodiment. You understand concepts but nothing changes.
2. Too warrior - Chest-beating, drum circles, performing masculinity. Surface-level intensity with no depth.
3. Too soft - Spiritual bypassing. "Love and light" without addressing the shadow. Feelings without integration.
My approach integrates:
→ Breathwork to regulate the nervous system and access buried emotions
→ Somatic practices to get out of the head and into the body
→ Brotherhood for authentic connection (not networking or performance)
→ Trauma-informed methodology so the space is actually safe
→ Practical tools you can use in your actual life
The result:
Men who can feel without falling apart.
Men who can lead without dominating.
Men who can be vulnerable without losing their edge.
We don't perform masculinity. We embody it.
Not just for men though - most of my offerings are open to everyone. Men's work is specifically for men seeking brotherhood and masculine embodiment.

I've never done "men's work" before. Will I fit in?

Most men at Brothers in Breath are new to this.
You'll find:
→ Startup founders and corporate leaders
→ Tradesmen and manual workers
→ Creative professionals and artists
→ Men in their 20s to their 60s
→ Married, single, divorced, figuring it out
What they have in common:
They're tired of surface-level connection.
They want something real.
You don't need to:
→ Be spiritual
→ Have done therapy
→ Know about breathwork
→ Be "healed" already
→ Perform any version of masculinity
You just need to:
→ Show up
→ Be willing to be honest
→ Hold space for other men doing the same
The rest takes care of itself.
First-timers often leave saying: "I didn't know I needed this until I experienced it."

Do I need to be physically fit?

No. Breathwork isn't a workout.
What it is:
You lie down (or sit comfortably) and breathe in specific patterns while I guide you.
Physical requirements:
→ Ability to breathe consciously
→ Comfortable lying on your back (or sitting if that's better)
→ That's it
Who this works for:
All body types, all fitness levels, all ages (18+).
Who needs to check first:
If you have:
→ Cardiovascular conditions
→ Severe respiratory issues
→ Epilepsy or seizure disorders
→ Recent surgery or serious injury
→ Pregnancy (first trimester especially)
...mention it in the discovery call. We'll discuss whether breathwork is appropriate or if we need to modify the practice.
For most people: completely safe and incredibly powerful.

I have anxiety/depression/PTSD. Is this work suitable for me?

Short answer:
Often, yes. But let's discuss your specific situation.
Longer answer:
Breathwork can be incredibly helpful for anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. It works with the nervous system directly, which talk therapy often doesn't reach.
Many clients find:
→ Anxiety decreases as they learn to regulate their nervous system
→ Depression lifts as blocked emotions move
→ Trauma responses soften as the body feels safer
However:
If you're currently:
→ In acute crisis
→ Experiencing active psychosis
→ Unmedicated and unstable
→ Recently hospitalised
...we need to have a conversation about timing and whether this work is appropriate right now.
This is not therapy.
I'm not a therapist. I'm a breathwork facilitator.
This work complements therapy beautifully. Many clients do both.
But if you need clinical support, get that first or alongside this work.
Bottom line:
Book a discovery call. Tell me what's going on. We'll figure out if this is right for you.

Are your events suitable for people with trauma?

Yes. All my work is trauma-informed.
Here's why I can say that with confidence:
I've walked this path myself. Childhood trauma. Abuse. Foster care. Years of disconnection.
I know what safety looks like.
I know what healing requires.
I know the difference between breakthrough and retraumatisation.
What trauma-informed means in practice:
→ You're in control of your experience at all times
→ Clear consent practices and boundaries
→ Option to step out or modify if needed
→ I don't push or force anything
→ Integration support is built in
→ You can go at your own pace
That said:
Let me know in advance if you have specific concerns or triggers. We can discuss any accommodations needed before you commit.
When to be cautious:
If you're currently in crisis or acute instability, intensive breathwork might not be appropriate right now. Reach out and we'll discuss whether the timing is right or if something gentler makes more sense.
The goal is transformation, not overwhelm.

What is your approach to sacred ceremonies and plant medicine?

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTE:
All plant medicine work happens in jurisdictions where it's legal - primarily Mexico & Portugal.
I do not facilitate illegal substances anywhere.
My Background:
→ 3 years training as acolyte to serve 5-MEO-DMT
→ Trained in psilocybin facilitation
→ Extensive personal experience with multiple medicines
→ Integration support is central to my approach
What Makes My Approach Different:
Most medicine work focuses on the ceremony and ignores integration.
The ceremony is 10% of the work. Integration is 90%.
My Method:
→ Extensive preparation (screening, intention setting, nervous system work)
→ Trauma-informed facilitation during ceremony
→ Multiple integration sessions after
→ Breathwork and somatic practices to embody the insights
This Work Is NOT For Everyone:
Required:
✓ Mental and emotional stability
✓ Clear intention (not just curiosity)
✓ Willingness to face what arises
✓ Commitment to integration work
✓ Capacity to be with intensity
Not suitable if:
✗ History of psychosis or schizophrenia
✗ Currently on certain medications (SSRIs, MAOIs)
✗ Looking for escapism or recreation
✗ Unwilling to do preparation and integration
All participants are screened in advance.

Can I train with you to become a facilitator?

Not currently.
Why
I focus on facilitating transformation, not training facilitators.
Where to get trained:**
→ Breathwork: Look for certified programs (ask me for recommendations in discovery call)
→ Men's Work: Attend multiple experiences first. Training comes after embodiment.
→ Sacred Sexuality: ISTA (International School of Temple Arts) is where I did some training
Want to learn from me?
→ Attend my workshops and retreats
→ Book 1:1 sessions
→ Participate in the work over time
Eventually:
I may offer mentorship or training programs. Not yet.

What if I cry or have an emotional release during a session?

Perfect. That's often what needs to happen.
Why emotions come up:
Breathwork bypasses the thinking mind and accesses the feeling body. Things you've been holding (grief, anger, shame, joy) can surface.
What I do:
Hold space. Keep you safe. Guide you through it.
What you don't need to worry about:
→ Looking weak or broken
→ Being judged
→ "Doing it wrong"
→ Making noise or expressing emotion
This is the work.
Men especially have been taught to hold it all in.
This is where you get to let it out.
In a safe container. With someone who's been there.
Crying isn't weakness. It's release.
And on the other side of release is freedom.

What if nothing happens in a session?

Sometimes the work is subtle.
Not everyone has volcanic releases.
Some sessions feel:
→ Calm and spacious
→ Gentle and integrative
→ Like "nothing happened" (but you feel different after)
That's still transformation.
The loudest sessions aren't always the deepest.
If you truly feel nothing shifted, we'll discuss it after and adjust approach for next time.
Trust the process.
Your system knows what it needs.
Sometimes it needs quiet. Sometimes it needs storms.
Both are valid.

Sometimes it needs quiet. Sometimes it needs storms.
Both are valid.
How many sessions will I need?

Impossible to say.
Some people:
→ Have a breakthrough in one session
→ Get what they need and integrate it into life
Some people:
→ Work with me for months or years
→ Use it as ongoing support and deepening
It depends on:
→ What you're working with
→ How committed you are to integration
→ What else you're doing to support your growth
My recommendation:
Start with one session.
See how it lands.
Then decide what's next.
No pressure to commit to a series.
No judgment if one session is enough.
This is your journey.
I'm here to support whatever serves you.
